Phase II and Phase III programs are designed to help individuals restore confidence following a cardiac event or diagnosis. Our cardiac rehabilitation services are medically guided, evidence-based, and tailored to each patient’s unique health needs and goals.
Patients participating in Hulsey cardiac rehab benefit from individualized exercise programming, ongoing monitoring, and professional guidance to ensure safety and effectiveness. Our team works closely with referring physicians to support improved heart function, reduced risk of future cardiac events, and a confident return to daily activities and exercise.
What is Phase II and Phase II Cardiac Rehab?
Phase II cardiac rehab is the next extension of cardiac rehabilitation. It begins a few days after discharge from the hospital and or completion of Phase I cardiac rehab. Phase I can only be done in the offices or hospital setting which as quick access to cardiac drugs, a physician, and continuous cardiac monitoring equipment. Hulsey cardiac rehab provides structured, supervised exercise and education following hospitalization or cardiac intervention. Patients progress through monitored aerobic and strengthening exercises while monitoring:
- Heart rate
- Blood Pressure
- O2 saturation
- PE levels
- Pain
Phase III cardiac rehab focuses on long-term maintenance, continued conditioning, and lifestyle support in a less supervised environment, helping patients sustain the progress they’ve made and maintain heart health over time. This phase of Hulsey cardiac rehab is a maintenance-focused program designed to help individuals continue improving their cardiovascular fitness and overall health after completing Phase II cardiac rehab. It emphasizes long-term exercise habits, strength training, and lifestyle consistency in a less medically supervised setting while still providing professional guidance and support. Phase III cardiac rehab is typically started after a patient has safely completed Phase II and received physician clearance, making it an ideal next step for those looking to maintain progress, build endurance, and support lifelong heart health.
Cardiac Conditions Appropriate for Phase II & III Cardiac Rehab
Phase II and Phase III cardiac rehabilitation may be appropriate for individuals with a history of:
- Heart attack (myocardial infarction)
- Coronary artery disease

- Angioplasty or stent placement
- Heart valve repair or replacement
- Stable heart failure
- Stable angina
- Cardiac arrhythmias (as cleared by a physician)
- Post-cardiac surgery recovery
- Decreased cardiovascular endurance following cardiac events
Cardiac rehab programs are always individualized and require medical clearance to ensure patient safety.
