Wellness Today offers a full schedule of group classes for any fitness level and age. Our professional fitness instructors make classes fun, motivating, and worth your time! We have a variety of classes for different fitness levels.
An indoor cycling class for all fitness levels. You will burn maximum calories in a high energy setting! Our instructors have over 20 years of experience AND are road cyclists also! The best of both worlds!
Barbell class that will tone and strengthen your entire body! This class focuses on challenging weight loads and high repetition movements, which helps burn fat and gain lean muscle.
Created by our own Wellness Today instructors, this class is a cardio workout using our awesome spin bikes in an interval setting. It incorporates the use of BOSU, exercise bands, dumbbells, etc.
Designed by our own WT instructors, this strength workout uses various exercise equipment such as the BOSU, exercise tubes, bands and dumbbells for a muscle defining experience.
These classes are designed especially for Seniors who want to challenge their mind and body to bring their fitness to another level. We offer a variety of Senior Fit classes to help you meet your fitness goals:
- Fit CARDIO – A cardio class focusing on heart rate training.
- Fit SCULPT – A strength class which utilizes a variety of equipment.
- Fit CIRCUIT – A class that combines strength and cardio.
- Fit CORE - A class that focuses on strengthening core and balance.
Same class structure as above but with a lower level of difficulty.
- Sit & Strong – Fitness class incorporating the use of a chair, exercise tubes, hand weights and exercise balls.
- Tai-Chi – Mindful movement using the healing breathing techniques of Qi-gong and the balancing and strengthening movements of Tai-Chi.
- Mobility – Flexibility class structured around the use of a chair. Focus is on balance, flexibility, mobility, and core strength.
- Fit & Strong – This class includes both cardio and strength training with detailed instruction on how to correctly begin your fitness journey.
- Yoga Stretch – A class featuring movement and static stretches. Improving flexibility and range of motion can relieve body pain and improve performance of daily activities.
If you're looking for a way to reduce stress, consider tai chi (TIE-CHEE). Originally developed for self-defense, tai chi has evolved into a graceful form of exercise that's now used for stress reduction and a variety of other health conditions. Often described as meditation in motion, tai chi promotes serenity through gentle, flowing movements.
WHAT IS TAI CHI?
Tai chi is an ancient Chinese tradition that, today, is practiced as a graceful form of exercise. It involves a series of movements performed in a slow, focused manner and accompanied by deep breathing.
Tai chi, also called tai chi chuan, is a noncompetitive, self-paced system of gentle physical exercise and stretching. Each posture flows into the next without pause, ensuring that your body is in constant motion.
Tai chi is different from yoga, another type of meditative movement. Yoga includes various physical postures and breathing techniques, along with meditation.
WHO CAN DO TAI CHI?
Tai chi is low impact and puts minimal stress on muscles and joints, making it generally safe for all ages and fitness levels. In fact, because tai chi is a low-impact exercise, it may be especially suitable if you're an older adult who otherwise may not exercise.

When learned correctly and performed regularly, tai chi can be a positive part of an overall approach to improving your health. The benefits of tai chi may include:

Registered dietitians at Wellness Today provide nutrition care in health and disease. Personal counseling sessions are available for nutrition assessment, education, and counseling based on your medical and nutritional needs. Metabolic testing is also available to help you determine energy requirements to meet your weight goals. Many insurance plans will cover your visit to see a Registered Dietitian. We can verify your insurance benefits and coverage for you at any time.
We also offer the FUEL Program, a clinical approach to weight loss, disease management and overall wellness. It is developed by our experts to meet the needs of clients using scientifically based nutrition and exercise components without weight loss products, or fad diets. We specialize in helping you be successful in your journey towards positive and healthy changes!

The Biodex FreeStep is an overhead track and harness system that provides a safe walking environment for the member/patient. Without the fear of falling, members can focus more fully on their tasks of gait and balance training along with functional activity training. The FreeStep is just one more tool that Wellness Today offers to improve functional fitness and quality of life for many for people of all ages and fitness abilities.
Wellness Today fitness services are covered by Silver Sneaker insurance benefits! Silver Sneakers is a fitness program for seniors that is accepted at our location of Wellness Today. Wellness Today is in network with Silver Sneakers, Well On Target, and many other insurance-based exercise programs. With these programs you have access to the weights, cardio equipment and walking track. Other membership options are available if you would like access to additional amenities such as group classes, pool/hot tub, and underwater treadmills. Wellness Today requires a Doctor’s Release to exercise for anyone 40 and over.
Underwater Treadmill
Our underwater treadmills are state-of-the-art and a feature that you won't find available to the public anywhere else in Lubbock. We have 7 underwater treadmills available at any time during operating hours. Housed in our swimming pool, these treadmills are adjustable in speed from .1–7.5 mph and are fantastic for those who have special needs or those just looking for a different type of workout. The buoyancy of the water allows a workout free from high-impact stress on the joints of the legs and back while adding resistance to give you a one-of-a-kind experience.
