Drug Screenings
Did you know that employers typically end up paying billions of dollars every year as a result of employee substance abuse? Whether it’s related to prescription medication, illegal drugs, alcohol, losing a sizable amount annually in revenue poses a massive threat to a business.
Many businesses don’t believe they need to drug test their employees, however, a solid drug testing program can help prevent future problems, not only for the business as a whole but for each individual working there.
Valir Physical Therapy in Oklahoma works with a variety of third party administrators (TBA’s) to meet each company’s individual needs. Valir Physical Therapy is a DISA (Defense Information Systems Agency) certified site with all collections done by certified collectors. If you’re a business owner in need of DOT or Non-DOT drug and alcohol collections, contact one of our offices today.
As part of the H2 Health national network of therapists, we have the resources to provide comprehensive employment services to businesses across Oklahoma. Learn more about our partnership.
What Are DOT/Non-DOT Drug Screenings?
DOT tests are different from Non-DOT tests. A Non-DOT drug test is a drug test given to a worker in an industry that’s not regulated by the U.S. Dept of Transportation (DOT). According to information provided by EBI Inc, “there are two worlds when it comes to drug testing; the difference is how drug testing is regulated. The first applies to industries regulated by the DOT. If you’re a pilot, a truck driver, or a train conductor, the DOT governs your drug testing. The second world of drug testing applies to everyone else in non-regulated industries. Testing done on employees in a non-regulated industry is referred to as Non-DOT drug testing.”
Valir Physical Therapy is certified to do both DOT and Non-DOT drug and alcohol testing. DOT testing can reveal the use of alcohol, opiates, marijuana, cocaine, PCP, amphetamines, and methamphetamines. Non-DOT testing looks for the presence of barbiturates, methadone, quaaludes, benzodiazepines, and propoxyphene.
